Cylinder head corrosionWe are able to weld most aluminium cylinder heads where they have either begun to corrode, or drilling out a broken stud has gone slightly wrong!

The most common cause of cylinder head corrosion is using cheap coolant, coolant that has been in the car for too long or the wrong concentration. For the sake of a couple of extra pounds, it is well worth using the manufacturers recommended coolant, and also to change it at the intervals they specify.

Heads that are cracked or split are usually for the scrap bin, although we are willing to assess the damage.

Due to the heat involved in welding a cylinder head, it will need skimming after welding and valve stem oil seals will need replacing.
